INTRO

Our parochialism, sectionalism, primordial sentiments and uncontrollable extremist tendencies as Nigerians, has distorted our sense of reasoning and established a mental construct, that has continuously hindered us from achieving our collective aspirations as a united people. The product of such distorted reasoning and mentality has various degrees of social, economic and political implications, which are evident in Nigeria today. Some of which are; corruption, bad governance, impunity, wide spread poverty, high unemployment, stagnated economy, an enormous national debt, large inefficient bureaucracy and a complex political and educational system that discourages initiatives, innovation, merit and opportunity.

The fact that the future of any Nation lays on the shoulders of her young, has motivated us as young Nigerian professionals from all over the world, to rise up to the challenges to demand for good governance as well as participate in the governance of our Nation. We wish to bring to your notice, that the Nigerian Young Professional Forum commenced these series of very successful and highly impactful summits all over the regions of Nigeria to sensitize, brainstorm and develop a strategic plan which will enhance the collective aspirations of the Nigerian People,  to support the same ideologies, eliminate primordial ethnic loyalties, break down ethnic barriers and develop a sense of common identity which is intended to strengthen solidarity and foster National unity in building a prosperous and stronger Nigeria. It  is in this regard that the NYPF is conveying an international summit of such magnitude.

WHY THE SUMMIT?

This summit is about shaping topical issues, fostering national development, national advancement. Appraising the key challenges and impediments to national integration as well as creating pathways for the future. It will also serve as a timely and unprecedented opportunity for the Nigeria’s current and potential stakeholders to define, assess and take forward some of the promising visions for its future in the Nigerian Nation. The summit will:

• Awaken the Nigerian Young Professionals on the need to get involved in the political process of the Nation.

• Engage the Nigerian young professionals in determining a shared destiny and crafting a legacy.

• Promote equal opportunity, good relations, harmony and peaceful co-existence of persons of different ethnicity and advice the Government on all matters thereof .

• Lay a solid foundations for economic transformation and ushering a new crop of reformists.

• Determine strategies and priorities in all socio-economic, political and development policies of the government impacting on ethnic relations and advise on their implementation.

• Establish a network of contacts to support the Nigerian Young Professionals through Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings.

WHO WILL ATTEND?

The one day summit will be attended by over Five thousand (5000) young professionals from each state of the Federation. This amalgam of young professionals will provide objective and strategic contributions coming from their respective Countries and states. The summit shall produce a communiqué on the all inclusive way forward for our beloved country to attain its desired height and destined greatness. Expected at the summit are:
